I had mentioned a few posts back that I was heading off to Colorado for a little vacation. We just got back after spending a few days skiing in Vail with some of my husband’s friends from college. We had such a blast, but boy was it cold! We spent most of our days on the slopes and nights inside by the warm fire.

I was so glad that I had packed some warm and cozy outfits for the nights we stay inside. Here was one of my favorite outfits from the trip.  My knit leggings were incredibly perfect for being comfortable, yet cute and as my husband would say “So Colorado”!  You must ignore the sheer look of exhaustion on my face ( as we had been skiing for 8 hours that day), but check out these adorable reindeer leggings.

It’s truly amazing how fast time goes time, isn’t it?  I was just talking to my good friend Alicia last night about how it seems like just yesterday we were in college, enjoying the good life! And now here we are starting 2012.  Well time must go on and we are welcoming the new year with many new arrivals here at ChiChi Collections! So, is everyone curious as to what the fashion trends for 2012 will be?  I must say that 2011 had some fantastic trends that included long skirts, bangles and satchels. Yet every year there are always some unexpected ones like backpacks and crazy nail art. There were a lot of trends that are seeming to stick around for a while too like leopard and fur vests.

Although many will ask what are the fashion trends for 2012?

From what I am seeing fashion trends for 2012 are all about bright and bold colors. So if you are anything like me, start replacing black with color for 2012. We of course dabbled in this trend during 2011 with the all the rage of color blocking.  Just remember, stick to 3 bold colors to avoid looking all over the place. I am thinking a bright skinny jean and a bright chiffon top with some simple jewelry in a neutral color.

Fashion trends for 2012 are going to also include prints on everything!  Vibrant in color with shapes and swirls. I am thinking simple with this approach. Maybe one piece in a print and a neutral color to show it off. I am going to try a dark blazer and dark jeans with a print top or maybe a printed blazer or dress. Hmmm options and options.

Be on the look out for a few other 2012 fashion trends such as  motor cross, drop waist dresses and broaches.

So I am heading off to Colorado for some skiing and fun with some friends this weekend. As I have mentioned before, I grew up in Chicago and lived in the Midwest until 2007 and haven’t been back to see snow since New Years 2008. With that being said, I obviously have rid myself of most of my warm clothes and am in need of some fashionable winter clothes. I guess I am a Florida girl now which means I have nothing to keep me warm for this trip. I have now become so used to 80 degree weather that even when it dips in the 60′s I am freezing! One of the many perks of owning your own boutique means easy access to shopping for fashionable winter clothes that will help get me prepared for anything, especially freezing temps.

Here are a few fashionable winter clothes that I think I need to pack with me on my trip…

Fur Fashionable Vest: This vest will be great to layer over a long sleeve shirt or sweater. It’s soft, heavy and will be versatile which is a must have since I need to keep my packing light.

Date Night Thermal Top: I love this top!  Not only will I be able to wear this here on chilly nights in Florida but this is perfect for layering up to ski and also so cute that I can wear it out at night with cute boots and a jacket.

Rudolph’s Best Friend Leggings: I can’t wait to wear these leggings. I decided these would be perfect for the day we leave. They are so cute and comfortable and will be great for the plane ride and car ride to where we are staying. I am going to just pair these with a brown tunic top and my uggs.

2011 was such a wonderful year! I always find the holidays fly by with a blink of the eye. I always like to find time after all the celebrations to reflect on the past year! For me, 2011 will always be a year to remember as it was  full of amazing memories with family and friends. A few of my favorite events were my wedding day, building our new home and the launch of ChiChi Collections.

We finally launched our website in May of 2011!  Looking back it was a mere dream of ours that became a reality.  Like any new business, each month can be trying, but we are continuing to grow and grow. We are so blessed for our loyal customers and look forward to what 2012 has to offer. The New Year brings with it lots of promise, exciting new adventures and many many new arrivals!
