• Fashion Blog We Love!

Fashion blog reading is something I love to do. There is nothing better than grabbing a cup of coffee, turning on my laptop and checking out the latest in fashion.  The other day I came across this fantastic fashion blog called Café Fashionista.  It’s my new favorite!  She posts great blogs with awesome information. One of her most recent features “Footzyrolls”.  Has anyone heard of these? When I saw this blog I thought I must share immediately!   This is such a unique new item.  Check out the fashion blog post from Cafe Fashionista below and learn why every girl must own a pair of Footzyrolls!

Heels on the Sidewalk…Footzyrolls in Your Handbag!

Over the course of a single lifetime, a glamorous gal like yourself spends years teetering from one place to another in sky-high heels that boost confidence in a snap, and make you feel fabulous from head to shoe; yet, in all honesty, leave our feet, at least after a few hours, in extreme duress and begging for a flat escape.

For the scholarly type, such as the recent high school grad about to embark on an intriguing Ivy League journey or the college graduate on the verge of searching for a job that allows her to put her newly-earned degree to good use, much of this time is spent pounding the pavement, attempting to make it across an entire campus quad in the five minutes allotted between the end of Freshman Bio and the beginning of English 101, or trying to scramble from one job interview to the next, crossing her fingers that this will be the potential employer to toss an exciting new opportunity her way. So what, pray tell, do you scoop up as a gift for your ambitious new graduate? Footzyrolls, to be sure!

Unlike a typical ballerina that may take up too much room in your handbag, Footzyrolls are a foldable form of shoe that roll up to the size of a small cell phone so that they don’t interfere with your other handbag essentials; whilst functioning as a regular ballerina flat when unrolled and popped upon your fabulous, if not slightly tired, tootsies!

Ideal for a quick change after a night of partying in platforms, a necessity after an impromptu day of shopping in stilettos, and a can’t-live-without for the fabulista just beginning to navigate the chilly waters of real life; Footzyrolls come in a variety of colors and textures – from Snakeskins (my personal favorite) and Bohemian Chic to Candy Striper and Everyday – making them the perfect prezzie for the graduate. Even better? They’re priced at $30.00 and under per pair, so you can splurge on one in every sassy shade.

Thanks to Footzyrolls for the pictures.

The next time I come across an awesome fashion blog like this one, I will be sure to share!

It’s almost summer and every year at this time I get an inkling to wear pink more often. I am not sure what my reason is, but I love how soft and beautiful the color is.

Most people associate pink with babies, little girls and being feminine. But more than feeling feminine, wearing pink conveys compassion and an open heart. When people wear pink, whether they are male or female, they appear approachable and capable of loving others. If you want to feel heart-connected reach for that pastel pink sweater from your closet.  And if pastel colors don’t suit you…try on something in fuchsia or hot pink.

We’d love to hear what your favorite color of pink is!  Let us know!!

Here are a few of our favorite pink items from ChiChi Collections that will be sure to  make you feel pretty in pink!

    Wedding Fashion Video

I just got back from our amazing Honeymoon to the Dominican Republic and I was extremely excited to see a wedding fashion video slideshow from our wedding photographer, Matt from Matt Steeves Photography in my inbox!  What a nice surprise.  I thought I would share our wedding fashion video with everyone as it was such an incredible day and he captured it perfectly.  By the way, Matt also shot our photo shoot for ChiChi Collections!  Check it out!!

I could not have been happier with the way my wedding turned out!  My dress from Lace & Roses was more than I could have hoped for and my bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their silk chiffon juliet dresses from JCrew.   I hope you enjoy our wedding fashion video and that it gives you inspiration for your wedding.

P.S. I must say if you haven’t been to the Dominican Republic, it is truly a spectacular place to vacation.

5 Perks to Online Boutique Shopping

I am a huge advocate of online boutique shopping.  For those of us that struggle to find enough time in the day to shop for ourselves, online boutique shopping offers huge perks!  You can shop at home, at work or even on your iPad or cell phone.  Love…love…love this!!

Here are 5 Perks to Online Boutique Shopping:

    1. Convenience & Simplicity: It goes without saying that shopping at an online boutique is far more convenient than shopping at a traditional boutique store. Online boutique shopping allows you to shop 24/7…the internet does not close!  You can shop on your hours, not the store’s. (And let’s face it…boutiques are often notorious for having inconvenient hours).  Overall, online boutique shopping simplifies your life and who doesn’t need a little of that nowadays.  No need to worry about getting stuck in bad weather, carrying those heavy shopping bags, long lines and crowds!

    2. Time Saver: No need to hassle with finding a parking space, no need to worry about getting stuck in traffic and forget the travel time to and from the stores. You will find you save a whole lot of time by online boutique shopping.

    3. No Pressure to Purchase: YES…no more pushy sales associates!  My favorite. Girls, don’t you get tired of those sales people that follow you around the store? It’s awkward to say the least.  Shopping online gives you the flexibility to shop for as long as you’d like without anyone disturbing you.  And the nice thing is, if you have questions….customer service is always a phone call or email away.

    4. Gift Sending Made Easier:  It’s hard to keep up with all our friends and families birthdays…so shopping online makes sending gifts so much easier.  There are endless gift ideas online and once you’ve found that perfect gift, it can be shipped directly to the birthday girl!  No need to drive around shopping for that perfect gift and even better that you don’t have to spend time picking out a card.  Enter your gift message online and you are done!

    5. Unique Merchandise:  Online boutique shopping provides you with unique merchandise that you aren’t going to see everywhere.  Inventory is typically low…so you will be able to find a distinctive, individual look for yourself.

    Happy Online Boutique Shopping!

Steven Tyler wears Idylle on American Idol

I find it pretty cool that we decided to carry this new line called Idylle….minutes later Steven Tyler is spotted wearing it not only once, but twice!  Check out the image of him wearing Idylle Clothing on America Idol and also on the cover of Rolling Stones Magazine.

Idylle clothing is stylishly eclectic and contemporary line.  This clothing line aspires to attract those who appreciate the uniqueness and innovation of artistic intuition. This vision includes clever elements of hand drawn art, old world imagery, french art and fanciful detailing.  Idylle can be described as “a little bit whimsical” and a little bit “off”.  A great cross between simplicity and the unexpected!

Here is one of my personal favorites…because it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere, right?  Tuck its rounded bottom hem into high-waisted shorts, pair it with wedges and a long pocket watch pendant necklace and you are ready to enjoy tequila cocktails with friends! Cut slim and long with a freeing scoop neck and little chest pocket, this almost-too-comfy-to-be-true white burnout cotton tequila shirt tickles the senses with print of a perched bird and tequila bottle that is radiating color!

The crochet bird graces the front while a perched bird rests on the mannequin in the back. Be confident because you look great!

So, you love all things glamorous? I am not surprised when you say you love this crystal butterfly long sleeve shirt designed by Idylle Clothing. It combines classy antique chandeliers and beautiful winged butterflies. The green hue is stunning which in turn means you look stunning wearing it! Truly one of the most unique womens tops I’ve come across lately!

    How to Organize a Closet

I have nothing to wear!!  How many times have we said that?  I guarantee it has to do with the closet and I’m sure many of us could use a little advise on how to organize a closet!

Do you waste hours deciding on what to wear and still end up with more clothes on the bedroom floor than on yourself? Do you wear the same outfit over and over? Do you feel like you have nothing to wear despite a closet that is full?

If you agree with any of the above questions, follow these simple steps on how to organize a closet.  In this blog you’ll find fashion advice on how getting organized can give your wardrobe a boost!

We all know we can spend hours in front of the mirror feeling hopeless and tired, forcing us to resort to wearing the same old outfit over and over, but honestly you don’t have too.  The key is to organize, plan and then create. Here are 3 simple steps that helped me go from feeling like I had nothing to wear to wishing I could have wardrobe changes!

Step1: Organize your closet. Everything should be visible and available to you otherwise you often forget what you have. Having an organized closet will give you a clear view of all you have to work with and will make it easier to mix and match. I personally like to color coordinate my closet that way I can see what my options are categorized by color depending on the mood I am in. Another idea is to keep all tops together, followed by pants, skirts etc… Whatever works for you is perfectly fine. The main point is to just be organized.

Step 2: Always have a plan when shopping. Without a plan you just buy and your wardrobe will never be in place. Since you’ve already learned how to organized a closet and your closet is officially organized you need to map out what you need versus don’t need. Make a list and when shopping go buy what you are missing first. Then add in some trendy pieces. Also make sure when shopping you have many outfits that this article of clothing you buy can go with what’s already in your closet. This will help you from wearing the same pieces together all the time.

Step 3: Create the masterpieces! We all have different styles and tastes so that being said, there is no right or wrong way. Just be creative and play up your best features. Jewelry, scarves and belts are great additions to any outfit and can add a lot of flair. As long as you feel confident in something, you’ll look good!

I hope these tips on how to organize a closet have been helpful!

    Coral Crazy!

Has anyone else developed an obsession over the color coral this spring?  I just can’t get enough of it!  I love it in the house, as an elegant accessory, on a party dress and on my nails.  You name it, I love it!

Coral is a reddish or pinkish shade of orange.  The color coral is named after the sea animal also called coral.   To me, coral is a very welcoming and inviting color.  It gives off a refreshing positive energy in whatever application it is used. Check out the cool images that inspire me!

    Inspirational Women in Fashion

I’ve been wanting to write about inspirational women in fashion since we received an order from a line that promotes women and positive choice. Their company is founded on the premise that women can choose to be positive or negative and that the power of positive choice is an empowering way to live.  Here are a few tops from the collection:

I am not one to parade around talking about women and power, but at the same time women throughout time have inspired me to go for my dreams and to make positive choices along the way. I have always loved women entrepreneurs and find their stories motivating and hope to be able make my mark in the fashion world much like they did in their respective careers.

I started thinking about inspirational women mainly focusing on women in the fashion world and it’s amazing as we have had some truly fascinating iconic women dating back to the 1800’s. Starting with french fashion designer “Coco” Chanel. Her extraordinary influence on fashion was such that she was the only person in the couturier field to be named on Time 100: The Most Important People of the Century. Another famous Icon was British actress and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn. Hepburn remains one of the world’s most famous actresses of all time, remembered as a film and fashion icon of the twentieth century. Redefining glamour that inspired designs by Hubert de Givenchy, she was inducted in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame.

And here we are in the modern day world and are blessed with the talent of many inspirational women who continue to conquer the world with their artistic and creative talents. The following women are just a few listed on the Forbes Top 100 Most Powerful Women.

    Tory Burch # 88

Tony was the 2008 CFDA winner and paid her dues working with designers Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren and Narciso Rodriguez before launching her own brand out of her Manhattan apartment in 2004. Her self-titled lifestyle lines range from accessories to ready-to-wear, and she benefited early from an endorsement by Oprah Winfrey in 2005. Merchandise is now available in 31 shops in the U.S., three international stores and over 500 department stores worldwide, with four additional boutiques opening this year in Europe and Asia.

    Vera Wang # 91

Fashion designer Vera Wang, best known for her chic bridal collections that are celebrity favorites for red carpet events and weddings—this past year she dressed Chelsea Clinton, Hilary Duff and Alicia Keys for their big day and spent 16 years as an editor at “Vogue” before starting her own business. Like many designers today, Wang has expanded beyond her foundation of bridal and high-end ready-to-wear. In 2002 she dipped into the mid-priced home fashion industry, selling bath, bedding and house wares. Since 2007 she has also produced a mass-market line, Simply Vera By Vera Wang, for chain store Kohls.

    Donna Karen # 96

Last year marked the 25th year of business for the designer widely credited with changing the way working women dress regardless of age or size-despite stepping down as CEO and head designer in 1997, the company is now owned by LVMH. In 2008 she also created the Urban Zen Foundation, meant to raise awareness and inspire change in the world through preserving cultures, empowering children and promoting well-being by incorporating Eastern philosophies with Western medicine. Her campaign to better the world in 2011 includes opening health-minded restaurants in health care facilities in New York City.

These inspirational women have obviously made a name for themselves and are inspirations to all. I am excited to see what the future holds for ChiChi Collections!
